Red Wagon

One thing for certain in Portia Bell’s artwork is that of a serious painter who does not recognize artistic boundaries. Watercolor, gouache and inks form the basis for her work. While her media focus is in watercolor, she also works in oils, acrylic and pen and ink. She calls upon the beauty of nature, the exciting abstract shapes, colors and patterns as a source for inspirational and compelling paintings.

Art has always been a part of her life. Her art education has been focused on watercolor since mid 1999. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts – from the University of Houston and has studied at the Glassell School of Art. She was won numerous competitions and awards, and has exhibited in Houston and Galveston. Portia is represented by Simply Art Gallery in Galveston Texas, and Morton Street Gallery in Richmond Texas.
