The artist, Sherrill Chapman, resides in Houston, Texas, and enjoys painting in several disciplines (oil, watercolor, pastel, graphite) as well as various subjects, such as portraits, landscapes, genre scenes, abstract and architecture. She has had little formal training but takes advantage of art books, videos, magazines and classes with her favorite artists whenever possible. At the present time, Sherrill is studying Web design and HTML.

At 14 years of age, Sherrill won a scholarship to Art Instruction, Inc., a correspondence art course. Later, while still residing in San Antonio, Sherrill showed her work at McNay Art Institute and was a member of the San Antonio Art League and River Art Group, exhibiting in many of their shows.

Sherrill enjoys membership in the Watercolor Art Society of Houston (WAS-H), Women in Visual and Literary Arts (WIVLA), Blue Star of San Antonio, Portrait Clubs of America, Portrait Society of America and Signet Artist Group.
