Gingerbread
In 2002, I retired from CCISD. I’ve enjoyed participating in several community projects involving art, such as the “Painting an Empty Sky” mural dedicated to the memory of the Columbia crew, the Watercolor Society of Houston’s outreach program at Texas Childrens’ Hospital. I have been a member of the Board for two years for WAS-H, and on the committee for three years for TAACL Art Auction and Gala Fundraisers, and one of four artists chosen for The Charity Art Show and Sale for The Galveston Resource and Crisis Center two years in a row.
For the last seven years I have enjoyed teaching drawing as an adjunct instructor at the University of Houston, Clear Lake. I am a signature member of art societies including the National Society of Art, and my paintings have won top awards in numerous juried local and in International shows. This spring I was honored as one of Texas’ best painters by being selected as a finalist in the Prestigious Hunting Art Prize.
