About the Artist

Linda Darke Swaynos studied painting on the East Coast in the 70’s. After earning her B.A. in Fine Arts at Kean University, Linda taught drawing and painting at Arts High in Newark, N.J. and worked in the Education Department of the Newark Museum. She was an art therapist at Victory House Inc. in Newark, NJ. After moving to Europe, she taught art in Sicily and studied in London. Her colorful acrylics and watercolors reflect her travel experiences and her work can be found in public and private collections throughout the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Belgium, Italy, the U.K., Norway and Australia. Prior to moving to Houston, Linda exhibited at the Torpedo Factory, Alexandria, VA, the Greater Reston Arts Alliance, Reston, VA and at the Vienna Arts Society, Vienna, VA.

Linda’s numerous awards include honors received from the Western Federation of Watercolor Societies, the Visual Arts Alliance, and the Watercolor Arts Society – Houston, a group for which she served as President for 2003-2004. Her work has been recently acquired by the Reliant Energy Company for display in their boardroom.
