REVIEW

The Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts, Spring, Texas
hosted two exhibitions including WAS-H members' work.
The first, Local 32nd International Exhibit Award Winners at the Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts, August 22 - September 20, included selected paintings from the WAS-H 32nd InternationalShow by:
A.J. Schexnayder, Gerry Finch, Tonya Vollertsen, Sherry Tseng Hill, Eldon Faries, Carla Gauthier, Jun Zhu, Cheryl Wooten, Robin Avery, Keiko Yasuoka, Song Qin, Anita Cannon.
The second, from September 22-October 18, included winning
paintings from WAS-H's August Show by Marilyn Lacy, Liz Hill, Jerrie Gast, Erik Sprohge, Nancy Yarbrough, Al Heilman, Brenda Emery, Shirl Riccetti, Les McDonald.

WAS-H and Houston Grand Opera Collaborate, 2009
Winning paintings, selected by judge Arthur Turner, were hung in the Wortham Center Theater lobby January 23rd through February 6th, during an opera performance.

Bayou City Water Media Artists Show and Reception

Bayou City Water Media Artists is an association of artists, most of whom are members of WAS-H and are current or former advanced students of Arthur Turner at the Glassell School of Art, Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.
    Collectively, the participating artists have had numerous solo and group shows across the United States; have received acceptances; and have won a wide spectrum of awards in local, regional and national competitions, including Gold Medal and other awards in the American Watercolor Society (AWS), as well as achieving signature memberships in numerous watercolor societies, including the AWS, the National Watercolor Society (NWS), the Texas Watercolor Society (TWS) and the Watercolor Arts Society, Houston (WAS-H).
    These award-winning artists include Helen Dodd, Gordon Phillipson, Anna Griffith, Nancy Binford, John Boehm, Carol Fleming, Deborah Raichman, Jacquelyn Campbell, Jennifer Aden, John Holstead, Kirby Attwell, Margit Gergely, Pat McEnery, Nancy Grob, Theresa Rogers, Thuy Nguyen and Ann Wheat.

Juror, nationally acclaimed artist George James, AWS/DF and NWS, has generously donated his demo painting, to WAS-H.
39th Annual Members Exhibit Award Winners 2008

July 2 to August 15, 2008 WAS-H hosted New York's
American Watercolor Society Traveling Exhibit 2008.
Boasting an array of master paintings, this exhibition from New York consists of the "best of the best" watercolor paintings displayed in the United States, including several award-winning works shown below by WAS-H members. This prestigious collection was exhibited in WAS-H's new state-of-the-art gallery.
