It will be designed to combine flavorful culinary artistry with sensations of your artful watercolor. Most of us have enjoyed various treats prepared by members at many of our events, and wanted others' recipes. It's time to gather them all together in one collection.
We plan to produce a "WAS-H Cookbook" with proceeds of the sales to benefit WAS-H. The cookbooks will be sold for $20 at WAS-H functions such as the Art Festival and general meetings and will be endorsed by a well-known Houston chef.
Do you have favorite holiday recipes? Tried and true edible contributions to WASH receptions and workshops? Family traditional recipes? Those quick meals you can assemble for an impatient and hungry family in a "dinner emergency"? Healthy adaptations of older recipes? Please share them with all of us!
You can email your recipes (in Word document form if you can) to Carol Relihan at carolrelihan@mac.com. It would be terrific if you can include some background about the recipe, such as family history; where in course of travels you found this favorite; recommended wine pairings; serving suggestions; or other background information.

Submit your watermedia paintings and sketchest via"snail mail" to Carol Relihan c/o WASH's mailing address.
Cover Competition
Get your brushes ready and think about a painting to enter into a competition for the cover art -- we will need a beautiful watermedia piece of artwork to showcase our recipe collection. The Winning Artist (must be a WAS-H Member) will have his or her image on the front cover and receive a free cookbook, introduction at an artists' reception, a year of free WAS-H Member Pages, recognition in Washrag and on the Web, and a cookbook signing at the Wash Art Festival. Also several Honorable Mentions to artists featured inside the book.
Entrance fee will be $10 a painting and $5 each sketch, Take-In date sometime in March.
