This class eliminates the intimidation of watercolor. Students work from photos/drawings. Explore elements of design, color mixing and composition as well as how to put it all together and make a painting.

Watercolor for the Beginner

Students will achieve a solid foundation in the use of materials, techniques, color theory, composition, and design. Paint with confidence and discover you personal style.

Figure Painting for Mixed Media

This class will incorporate anything that will make your figure pieces more exciting. Liz will do several demos to show how she creates her wonderfully creative and awarding winning compositions, some with collage. She stains and paints her own collage paper and will show you how she uses them in her compositions. There will be a live model each day.

Drawing and Painting the Figure

Learn the fundamentals of drawing and painting the figure in watercolor. Students will be given instruction on using landmarks to measure proportion, understanding relations and seeing the overall shape Ð not the details. Demonstrations will be given often. Beginners and Intermediate students are welcome. Students will be working from models.

Building Basics of Beginner Watercolor

This fun class makes beginners feel comfortable and challenges the advanced student. Enthusiastic, hands-on instruction will inspire you to find your artistic voice. Every session will begin with a demonstration, followed by individual help. Students go home with a finished painting in their own painting style. All levels.

Mixed Media

Learn how to effortlessly and intuitively apply acrylic paint (with brushes, knife, even fingers) and other materials, including charcoal, crayons, pencils and more, in this mixed-media class. Demonstrations with extensive explanations plus personal guidance will aid in helping find your ÒvoiceÓ as an artist. Your Òtoolbox, Ó the elements of design, will be reinforced as you enjoy the freedom in exploring materials and being confident as you create, knowing the ÒwhyÓ behind the choices of color, composition, etc. We will work from photos and/or drawings. I will be sharing many things from my studio, too, so you may experiment. All levels. Only a desire to create and have fun is required.

* A model fee will be collected.
There will be an additional fee for nonmembers of $10 per day.
Unless noted otherwise, all classes have a suggested supply list. Contact instructor for supply list and to be sure class will be held.
