Al Zerries titled this oil painting
Two Grey Dogs.
"Your society was one of the very first to accept his work in an exhibition, and I still remember how proud he was of that achievement." Jean Zerries.

We at WAS-H feel sadness at the loss of a large and original talent and joy at the sight of his artistry. From his website, www.alzerriesart.com, we quote from the Artist's Statement:
"When I paint a person, I don't try to replicate every physical detail. Instead, I attempt to capture what the person projects."
"Most of the subjects I paint project a definite aura, and bringing that essence to light is my primary objective."
Al Zerries was born in New York City
, graduated from Pratt Institute majoring in advertising, worked twenty-plus years as an art director, TV producer, and creative director in Manhattan ad agencies, and taught at the School of Visual Arts.
In 1998-2000 he studied painting with Burton Silverman. His oils, watercolors and pastels have been in over 225 national and international shows, winning awards in over half of those events, and 15 Best of Show Awards. He has been an Elected Member or Signature Member in over 300 Societies.
Al and his wife Jean have collaborated on the novel The Lost Van Gogh.
