Juror and Workshop Instructor
Dale Laitinen, NWS Signature Member
Painting by Dale Laitinen
Dale is a signature member of NWS and Watercolor West, and an active workshop instructor, traveling widely in the U.S. and abroad. A graduate of San Jose State University with a BA in Art with a painting concentration, Dale Laitinen has been painting for over forty years with thirty five of those in watercolor
One of the identifying traits of a Laitinen painting is the long view with the natural forms of the topography being foremost. His works extend to the interaction between man-made structures and the natural landscape where
a highway, for example, cuts through desert sandstone, or a shadow of a bridge crawls slowly across a red rock wall.
His work has been featured in several books, including
The Splash Series, Painting with the White of Your Paper and in many watercolor magazines.
“From Line to Design, the Language of the Landscape” will be his focus in the WORKSHOP October 11-15, 2010
He will give an exciting demonstration at WAS-H's Monthly Meeting October 10 at 1:30pm
