Volunteers are the backbone of the Watercolor Art Society-Houston. Without them, we wouldn't be able to provide the exhibits, receptions, workshops and many programs offered at our facility.
SATURDAY TAKE-INS This is an excellent place for new members to get started at WAS-H. It gives you an opportunity to meet lots of members, learn their names, and their style of painting. Not a lot of demands on your time; only one Saturday a month. Lots of different types of jobs are needed on that day. Computer skills a plus but not required. To volunteer contact Kathleen Church. RECEPTIONSAre you the “Martha Stewart” of your community? Or do you just like wine? This committee could be for you! This opportunity only involves a few hours once a month. Lots of different jobs are needed; pouring wine to setting up buffets, decorating, and playing host/hostess. This committee gives you a chance to meet people and learn who-is-who at WAS-H or just bring a snack to the monthly General Meeting or Reception. Contact Sally Hoyt to volunteer. TEXAS CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL: MEDICAL CENTER or KATYLike the job of playing with young children? Two hours a month at Texas Children’s Hospital will help to bring the spontaneity back into your life! Just show up and children wanting to paint will come to you and you can play with watercolors. Just breathe, laugh and play with paint. What could be better? Contact Anna Griffith for more information. PUBLICITY, OUTREACH, WRITING ARTICLES, PHOTOGRAPHERDo you like to write articles or photograph events? This committee looks for creative ways to reach out to new populations and report on WAS-H classes, exhibits, demos, paint-ins and other activities.
