Chinese brush painting provides a wonderful opportunity to closely observe nature. One key element of this distinctive style is the influence the materials have on form and technique. Each technique will be introduced with step by step instruction. This class we will focus on 4 Unique Chinese brush painting Techniques (Salt, Liquid soap, floating rice paper, Leaf print).

Supply list:

• Brushes: 2 hard brushes, one large and one small. 1 flat brush (1.5-2.5 inches). 2 combination brushes, one large and one small. 1 pointed brush. couple of charcoals.

• A box of Sumi ink.
• Couple of large dishes or Pallets.
• Two painting mat as cotton mat, or table cloths.
• A wash jar or bowl.
• A small jar of salt. A jar of liquid soap.  A marbling tray as a large shallow plastic box, or large heavy foil baking pan. A hairdryer.
• Few of different plants’ leaves. 
• A roll paper towel.
• 2-4 paper weights.
• A Hair dryer
