IN-PERSON: January Monthly Paint-In: Watercolor Pillars and Clock

Richie Vios

Now based in Austin, Richie Vios travels all over the US to compete in plein air events and teach watercolor workshops.  He was an architectural designer until 3 years ago – when he became a full-time plein air watercolor artist.   He has won many awards at plein air festivals.    Richie believes that the mark of a good artist is to be able to capture the different facets of life, not just illustrating or recording what is seen but expressing what is felt.

Richie will demonstrate from an award winning painting.   He will discuss the 4 pillars of a good watercolor painting.  He will also share the Watercolor Clock Principle (water ratio to color pigments).
