Chinese Brush painting Technique; The Irises in detailed style

Named after the Greek goddess of the rainbow, it symbolizes elegance and grace. Blooming in shades of purple, blue, white, and gold, the iris is a timeless emblem of beaty and wisdom. In this section, Students will learn the elements of brush techniques of Chinese Gong Bi style. Each technique is demonstrated by the instructor. Students are received individual attention adapted to their particular skill level and interests. Student Supplies Needed: 1. Brushes: 2 small combo brush, one detailed or pointed brush, 1 medium hard bristled brush. 2. Paper: non-absorbency rice paper- Shimmer Shuen or Cicada Wing Shuen. If you don’t have any of this paper, please let the instructor know, and she will bring extra paper for you. 3. 15” X 20” or large foam board or plastic corrugated sheet. A roll of masking tape. 4. A sets of 18 tubes of Chinese Marie’s watercolors. 5. A pallet or 3-4 of used dishes for mixing colors. 6. a bottle of Sumi-e ink. (if your Marie’s watercolor sets have a tube of black color can instead of ink) 7. Roll of paper towels
