Design, value, color, and composition elements will be discussed as the student creates a painting. We will savor the enjoyment of the painterly aspects of the medium rather than being tied to the realistic detail. All forms of subject require the artist to master the medium in their own way and style. Understanding the balance of water and pigment will be isolated and approached. Selected specific exercises will be demonstrated for practice and then applied to your design. The extremes of utter spontaneity and complete control. A good class for all levels.
