MONTHLY PAINT-IN: Painting Realistic Still Life in Transparent Watercolor with Monika Pate

WAS-H is excited to have national award winning Signature Elite member Monika Pate for the June Paint-in!   Check out her website: monikapate.com.

Monika will help participants explore the process of painting a variety of realistic textures by using the watercolor layering technique. The instructor will provide step-by-step demonstration and students will also receive individual attention.

Reference materials will be provided prior to the Paint-In class, however participants are also welcome to work from their own resources if they prefer.

9:30-3:00 class – lecture, demo, and painting
3:00-3:30 – cleanup

Supply List

•  Good quality watercolor paper, preferably 300lb cold press or rough (1/2 sheet maximum size)
  
• Scrap paper for testing colors
  
• Board to support the watercolor paper
  
• Your favorite brushes - selection of rounds and flats
  
• Watercolor paints of your choice
  
• Scrubber brush for lifting paint (Cheap Joe's Fritch Scrubber or similar)
  
• Masking fluid of your choice and a brush or tool for applying the fluidOther supplies: pencil, eraser, paper towels, water container.
  
• Bring a sack lunch sweater or light jacket (in case the room temp is cool),   We’ll have snacks and coffee!
