HOLIDAY CARDS WITH GOLD LEAF - Susan Giannantonio

Here's a fun one-day workshop where we will create holiday cards and discover the tricks of gold leaf as you decorate your cards or small paintings. First, we will use our imaginations to create a winter forest collage or painting on a few greeting cards or small watercolor papers. Then we will experiment with gold leaf under Susan's playful guidance.

The photos are some of the cards made in last year's popular workshop.

Class will be over in time to attend the December Gallery reception downstairs. (There is no member's meeting or demo in December.)

Supplies:

Package of any plain white greeting cards (watercolor paper not necessary) or watercolor paper to fold into cards. Size is up to you.
A few junk mail advertisements or catalogs.
Small selection of acrylics (any type): especially green, blue, white, red.
Small amount of matte medium.
Cheap brushes to apply acrylics & matte medium.
Sheets of gold leaf i.e. ArtMinds Ready Leaf Gold sheets.
Glue for gold leaf i.e. 2 oz Speedball Metal Leaf Adhesive Size.
Soft (good) watercolor brush, ½ - 1” flat for applying gold leaf. Do not use this with the adhesive!
