VIRTUAL - Sketching People: From Pencil Line to Color

Ksenia Annis

Saturday, June 20
10:00 - 11:30 - $30

If you always wanted to draw people but didn’t know where to start, this class is for you. I will show you my technique for quickly capturing human form on paper and create fun, unique and expressive sketches of people. We will talk about how to get proportions right without lengthy measuring and revising your drawing. I will show you quick shading techniques that will add more life and dimension to your sketches. We will also make our sketches burst with color with a quick addition of watercolor washes. We will work from reference photos, but I will ask students to practice what we learned on their own using friends and family members as models. This class will be about fast sketching, but most of all it will be about building your confidence, having fun and expressing yourself as an artist.

Note: Please note that registration will close the day before class at noon. Please register early.

Level: All levels

Materials: Sketchbook and a pencil will be enough to start. Other materials will be discussed during class and a list provided. Feel free to practice along with the demos during class or take notes and try the techniques later.
