VIRTUAL - Mixing and Mingling: Luminous Grays and Blacks for Animal Portraits

Ksenia Annis

Saturday, July 11
10:00 - 11:30

$30

No black pigment is required to paint beautiful, varied grays and blacks with watercolor. And we won't even need a palette for this technique, all the mixing and mingling will happen directly on paper. We will be painting animals, but this technique can be applied to any subject and is a great tool in the arsenal of any watercolor artist. After a brief look at color theory and a couple short demos from the instructor, students will paint from provided photos with the instructor available to answer questions and give pointers.

You can paint from your own photo or from the one in the class demo (a link will be provided to all registrants).

Level: All levels

Materials: You will need your usual watercolor painting supplies: watercolor paper (140 lb or 300 lb), paint, brushes, 2 water containers, paper towels, 2B pencil.

Note: Please note that registration will close two days before class. Please register early.
