Chinese Brush painting provides a wonderful opportunity to closely observe nature. In this section you will thought the objects of Bluebonnet to learn the element of brushstroke. Especially the bluebonnet is collectively the state flower of Texas. Each technique is demonstrated by the instructor. Students receive individual attention adapted to their particular skill level and interests. Welcome all levels.


Supply list:

  • Brushes; one detail brush as fine tip brush, as leaf vein or happy dot. One small combination brush and one large combination brush.
  • Paper; Sumi paper Pi or Ma, or half raw & half ripe rice paper or Sumi paper Jin Pi. Amazon called MEGREZ Chinese Japanese Calligraphy Practice Writing Sumi Drawing Xuan Rice Paper Thickening Without Grids 100 Sheets/Set - 34 x 68 cm (13.38 x 27.77 inch), Half Sheng Shu (Half Raw Ripe) Xuan
  • A box of Chinese watercolor 12 or 18 tubes.
  • Couple of palettes for mixing colors.
  • 2-4 paper weights.
  • A roll of paper towel .
  • A bottle of Chinese ink or Sumi ink. 
  • A painting mat or felt.
