IN PERSON - November Paint-in: People in Your Paintings

Welcome to 2021’s November Paint-in!  Carla Gauthier, long time watercolor teacher at WAS-H, will focus on people in your paintings!  As per Carla:

• Often a landscape or cityscape seems empty until you add people, but it can be a daunting task. Getting the scale, posture and values right can make or break a painting that is close to completion. 
  
• In this month’s Paint-In we will learn how to paint figures into your artwork, practicing small, medium, and large figures and groupings. We will also cover how to add people to your photo reference, getting the right fit, placement, and lighting so that it looks natural and is a strong focal point.

Bring your regular painting supplies, brushes, paint, palette and brushes, a few pieces of paper (scrap or the back of old paintings is fine), and bring an old painting you might like to add a figure to, or an attempt that needs a little help to get it on track. We will work on these as time allows.

This Paint-in will be IN PERSON but masks are required.  Bring a sack lunch, sweater/light jacket (in case the room temp is cool).    We’ll provide snacks and coffee!
