IN PERSON - Cityscape Painting

In this class you will learn the step by step technique of urban street scenes painting, color mixing, values study and composition. The class will study perspectives, architecture, trees, sky and trees. The most interesting element of street painting is the illusion of atmospheric perspective with minimum details. A good quality Photo references are preferred for painting street scenes; and subsequently, the class will learn to paint cityscapes with cars, people, sky and trees. The instructor will be conducting painting demos and individual attention will help to learn the application of watercolor medium on paper. To get the most out of this class, each student will be encouraged to practice in the class room as well as at home. Level: beginner, intermediate Supplies needed: Graphite Pencils: HB, 2B (preferable) Watercolor brushes (natural squirrel hair preferred) A set of Watercolor paint of your choice, pallet, (all related material) 140 Lb arches sheet ¼ size paper or pads 10” x 15” Light weight Drawing Board Eraser – masking tape – sharpener – etc Note: Bring good quality portrait photos/prints (6x6 inches) of your choice as reference for drawing/painting.Due to the on-going pandemic, masks are required at all in-person events/classes until further notice.
