In this class you will edit reference photos of distracting and unnecessary details and create more dynamic compositions. You will learn how to shift from painting the photo to an artistic expression of your subject so that the viewer experiences the beautiful journey that first inspired you to paint your story!

Levels: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced Supply list: 4 sheets of approx. 11” x 15” each 140 lb. Arches or similar quality watercolor paper- cold press (or Yupo paper if preferred.) Tracing paper and pencil, eraser, sketch pad (optional) or notebook Watercolors and paint palette, brushes, and paper towels 8.5 x 11” Xerox (Black and White) of your reference photos that you would like to paint. (Class reference photo will be provided if needed.) Color photo (or color xerox) of your reference photo or photos. Color pencils (optional) Masking tape
