Have ”abstract” or “not-objective” paintings always intrigued you, but you are wondering where to start? We will have some simple formulas to get your creative juices flowing.

This team-taught class will focus on:
1) Understanding the Principles of Design that are the basis of any good artwork; 2) Choosing a Color Scheme that expresses your emotion, and 3) Mark and Shape Making, Layering and Lifting that will help you intuitively build paintings that are captivating and visually satisfying (the FUN part).

Level: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced

Supply List: Regular watercolor supplies, brushes, palette, YUPO or gessoed paper, and paper towels. Also bring Mixed Media from watercolor, gouache and acrylics to charcoal, collage and pastels*. We will supply some materials, but we don't have Sherpas to help transport your studio if you bring more mixed-media supplies than you can carry!
