IN PERSON - Sky's the Limit
Les McDonald, Jr. Saturday & Sunday, July 15-16 9:30am - 3:30pm $150 members/$170 non-members Skies have such a diverse image. There are so many colors and shapes in skies. Large sky areas are normally painted in the “Wet on Wet” style. I will show you several painting techniques for various skies. Because of large wet areas, I recommend 300# Cold Press Arches. There is less paper warping than 140#. Plus, hot press, with its smooth surface is much harder to work with big washes. Skies still have texture. I will teach you how to manage the amount of water to use in different techniques. Very wet surfaces will bleed a lot and dry surfaces will have some hard edges. We will have a limited foreground land area. The painting will be mostly sky.
