IN PERSON - Summer Healing and Creativity

Laura Mossman &

Kristine Flaherty

Sunday, July 30

4:30 pm - 7:30 pm

$60 Tuition/$50 members

This 3-hour session will combine the healing properties of singing bowls and creative painting exercises.  The bowls will encourage a state of relaxation and the painting exercises will inspire you to follow your inner spirit as you make your art.

The session will begin at 4 pm.  Students prepare their table for the creative activities.  We will start with a few warm-up activities.

At approximately 4:30 pm, the lights will be dimmed, and students will be asked to get into a comfortable position.  Students may lie on the floor (bring your own yoga mat) or sit in a chair.

At this time, Kristine, our Sound Therapist, will begin playing her quartz singing bowls.  The art of sound healing has been practiced since ancient times. As the bowls play, vibrations are sent throughout the room and can be felt throughout your body.  These vibrations have been known to restore balance and harmony and have beneficial effects to both your mind and body.  Most people experience a very relaxed state and a feeling of well-being.

After a short break, students will then go to their prepared spaces and will follow prompts from the teacher as they create several abstract works by using acrylic paints, inks, other mark making tools and word prompts.

At the end of the session, students will leave relaxed, with a renewed spirit and a few beautiful abstract pieces.
