Judge: Julie Verville
About the judge: Julie is an Artist, and Gallery owner. She brings a wealth of insight into Art, its presentation, and the feeling and memories it ties together.
Originally from Houston, she has lived in the Woodlands since 1992. “We moved back here when we had our third child; we now have four children. We love the nature, the public art installations, The Waterway, the restaurants. It seems like a very cohesive community for families, and as a lover of the arts, we really enjoy that art is a big part of the community here.”
Julie owns the Ardest Gallery, a fine arts gallery in the Woodlands, representing nearly 40 top Texas 2D and 3D emerging to mid-career artists. “I’ve been an art collector for almost 20 years, and I still remember buying my first piece. That’s one of the main reasons I collect art personally. It’s for the stories of the artist who created it, where I found it, and when I found it. I like to be able to tell those stories to people who come into our home. Ardest Gallery is a way for me bring that same level of joy to people’s homes in The Woodlands and around Houston.”
Steps to enter your painting into the monthly show:
1. Complete this online registration.
2. Write your name and the title of your painting on the back of the painting.
3. Email a photograph of your painting to admin@watercolorhouston.org.
4. Drop off your painting(s) before the deadline.
