Let’s mix it up and glue it down. Using watercolor, collage and mixed media of your choosing, we will produce striking graphic images full of pattern and color. Figures, pets, landscape, or still life – pick your subject! Bring paper scraps, old paintings, pattern pieces – anything to add interest to your subject compositions.

Students will explore compositions that are bold and eye-catching, whimsical and loose.

Supplies Needed:

Hot or cold pressed watercolor paper OR 90# mixed media heavy paper

Matte medium

Paint palette (watercolor or acrylic)

Variety of brushes and a small foam or ratty brush for matte medium

Variety of collage papers

Pencil, colored pencils, watercolor pencils

Any drawing materials/supplies

Reference materials – photos, sketchbook, old drawings or painting

Variety of brushes including a small sponge brush to apply matte medium

Safety Alert: Individuals attending this activity should be aware that they require the ability to safely descend stairs in an emergency.
