Introducing some new ways to look at flowers! We will do blind contour, exaggerate forms, draw with unusual tools (a surprise awaits!). Students may prep your paper or canvas with a solid-color underpainting—white, black, venetian red, gold, etc. in preparation for the class. (optional)
Supplies: Bring what you have. Contact instructor with questions:
sgiannart@gmail.com
If you have flowers in your garden or home that you’d like to bring, that’d be great! Do not purchase flowers for this class.
Large drawing paper
Drawing implements of your choice: charcoal, pencil, pens, markers
Supports: large watercolor paper (at least ½ sheets, pref. full sheets)
Or canvas or board, any size but large is fun. Or a variety.
Acrylics in floral colors
White paint or white gesso to mix with colors
Small collection of paintbrushes for acrylic (not sable! Not good brushes!) Liner brush is nice to have.
Paper towels and/or rags
Students might not complete paintings during class but, instead, will be encouraged to take home multiple starts that can be completed at leisure. This will be a productive class!
